How do I open my photos?
Three ways from the welcome screen or the Open menu on the top toolbar: Photos picks specific items from your Photos library, Library browses your albums and loads whole collections, and Open loads files or entire folders — including iCloud Drive.
What gestures does Paralux use?
Pinch with both hands to zoom (up to 8×), pinch-and-drag to pan, tap once to show or hide the toolbars, and double-tap to reset zoom and bring everything back. The thumbnail strip and arrow buttons move between photos.
Is there a tutorial?
Yes — Paralux 2.0 includes an interactive walkthrough of every major feature. It opens automatically on first launch, and you can revisit it anytime from the green Tutorial button on the welcome screen.
Where did the toolbar buttons go after the update?
2.0 organizes the toolbars into menus so windows resize freely. Sources live in the Open menu, slideshow and immersive modes in the View menu, and Share / Export / Super Resolution in the side toolbar's More (⋯) menu.
What are Spatial Scenes?
Spatial Scenes turn any 2D photo into a 3D scene with real depth, generated entirely on your Vision Pro. Open a photo, choose View menu → View as Spatial Scene, then tap the generate button. Once it converts, lean in and look around the photo like a window into the moment.
Do Spatial Scenes work in the visionOS Simulator?
No. Generation requires a real Apple Vision Pro — the Simulator shows a message instead. Everything else in Paralux works in the Simulator.
Why did a photo fail to convert?
Some images don't give the on-device model enough depth cues — very flat graphics, heavy blur, or abstract patterns convert less reliably. Tap Try Again, or pick a photo with a clear subject and background. Photos with people, landscapes, and objects convert best.
Why do saved scenes regenerate when I reopen them?
visionOS doesn't let apps save the generated 3D result to a file, so Paralux keeps the source photo and re-converts it on demand. Scenes opened from My Spatial Scenes start generating automatically — no extra tap — and it only takes a few seconds.
What does exporting my collection do?
Export copies your collection's source photos to any folder you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, anywhere). That keeps all your spatial-scene photos together in one place you control — reopen them in Paralux and they'll convert again on demand.
Can I resize the Spatial Scene window?
Yes — grab the corner handle of the volume and drag. The photo scales with the window.
How do I put my photos on the wall?
Two steps. First, while viewing a photo in Paralux, open the side toolbar's More (⋯) menu and choose Add to Photo Widget. Then open the system Widgets app, find Paralux Photos, and place a widget on any wall or surface. It stays put between sessions.
My widget says "Add photos in Paralux" — why?
The widget's collection is empty. Add at least one photo from the More (⋯) menu while viewing an image. If you've just added photos and a placed widget hasn't caught up, give it a moment — or remove the widget and place a fresh one.
Can each widget show a different photo?
Yes. Long-press a placed widget and choose Edit. The Photo option pins a specific photo to that widget; Shuffle All Photos rotates through your collection. Each widget keeps its own choice, so five widgets can show five different photos.
How do I change how often shuffle rotates?
In the same Edit menu, Shuffle Timing offers every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, hour, 6 hours, or once a day. Note: visionOS manages a refresh budget for all widgets, so the shortest settings may occasionally be spaced out by the system.
What are the frame styles?
Four, chosen per widget in the Edit menu: Full Bleed (edge to edge), Gallery Mat (floated on a dark mat), Circle, and Instant Photo (white border with the photo's name, instant-camera style). The system's own frame width and color options layer on top — your photo stays full color.
How do I remove a photo from the widget collection?
Open the Widget Photos button on the welcome screen, then pinch and hold on a photo and choose Remove from Widget. Tapping a photo there views it in Paralux.
Can widgets show Spatial Scenes in 3D?
Not yet — visionOS widgets are rendered as flat snapshots, so 3D content can't run inside them. Widgets show the 2D photo; tap one to open Paralux, where the spatial version lives.
What formats does Paralux support?
Images: JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, Photoshop (PSD), spatial photos, and RAW — DNG, Sony ARW, Nikon NEF, Panasonic RW2, Canon CR2 / CR3 / CRW.
Video: MOV, MP4, 3GP.
Export: JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, JPEG 2000 — with Super Resolution upscaling at 2× or 4×.
What's the difference between Void Mode and Immersive Mode?
Void Mode dims the world around your photo into a pure black environment for cinema-like focus. Immersive Mode fills the space around you, with custom backgrounds — solid colors or your own images, tiled up to 10×10. Both live in the View menu.
How do panoramas work?
Automatically. Paralux detects wide shots and offers a curved, wrap-around view — no settings needed. Panoramas from your Photos library work too.
Some iCloud photos load slowly or get skipped — why?
Photos that are "optimized" in iCloud have to download to your device first. Paralux requests them with network access enabled, but very large originals on slow connections can take a moment. Anything unavailable is skipped rather than shown broken; try again once it's downloaded.
What is Liquid Glass lighting?
The window's ambient glow adapts to the dominant colors of the photo you're viewing, so each image sets its own atmosphere. You can adjust it in Settings.
How much does Paralux cost?
$4.99, once. No in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no accounts, no ads. Every update — including 2.0 — is free for existing owners.
What data does Paralux collect?
Paralux works entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your Vision Pro, there are no accounts, and Spatial Scene generation runs on-device. See the full Privacy Policy.
How do refunds work?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple reviews and processes all App Store refunds directly.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
In the app: Settings → ⓘ → Submit Feedback or Report Bugs. Or email support@paraluxapp.com. Screenshots or screen recordings help a lot.
